Obituary

John Quintin Isaac was born May 15, 1928 minutes after his identical twin, Albert (predeceased) to a Methodist Minister, Dr. Frank Reid Isaac Jr. and Marjorie Baker Isaac. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janet Isaac, son John Reid Isaac (Marie), daughters Sharon Grimma, Sally Isaac Smith, Kristin Isaac and 4 grandchildren Elizabeth Patterson (James), Laura Jauregui (Daniel), Sarah Smith and Gregory Smith, 3 great grandchildren and his oldest brother Rev. Frank Reid Isaac III.

John graduated from Sykesville High School in 1945 and Western Maryland College in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army twice from 1946-1948 and in Korea from 1952-1954. He received his Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in 1956. From 1954 -1983 he served the State of Maryland in their Social Services Department where he retired as the Director of the Anne Arundel County Dept. of Social Services.

John’s heart was in sharing God’s love in word and deed. In the decades following his retirement, he worked as an administrator for Search Ministries, and served twice as Bethany Christian Services Executive Director, helping charter their work in Maryland as well as serving on the state board and subsequently the national board in Grand Rapids. He also served as an Elder at Broadneck Evangelical Presbyterian Church and as a committee member for Young Life.

On January 12, 2019 at the age of ninety, John peacefully went home to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 17 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401.
