Terry K. Reigle, longtime Bowie resident, died at her home on October 11 after a long battle against metastatic breast cancer. She was 62.
Terry was born in Washington, DC to the late Robert Helm and Anna Garlock Helm. As part of a military family, she grew up all over the world, until her father’s final assignment brought the family back to the DC area, where they settled in Bowie and ultimately Gambrills, MD.
Terry married Mark Reigle in 1978 and joined the family business, B & B Auto Salvage of Upper Marlboro. She was the company’s office manager and bookkeeper for nearly 40 years until her retirement last year.
She was also an avid fan of crossword puzzles, “Wheel of Fortune,” antique cars, and all things Mickey Mouse.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Mark Reigle; three sisters, Diana Corbett (Bruce), Robin Helm, and Kelly Bacon (Bruce); two brothers, R. Michael Helm (Jane) and Shawn Helm (Thomas Marchitto); a sister-in-law, Diane McClary (Jamie); a brother-in-law Frank Reigle (Allison); ten nieces and nephews; numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and her dog, Aspen. She was predeceased by both parents; a sister, Donna Lambert; a brother Patrick Helm; and her parents-in-law, Pete and Gloria Reigle.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 15 at 1 pm at Hardesty Funeral Home in Gambrills, immediately followed by the burial at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
