Obituary

James Francis “Jim” Donlin, Sr., age 73, a resident of Sherwood Forest for 41 years and previously of Timonium, died July 3, 2018 at his residence. Jim was born in Quincy, MA on July 21, 1944 and was a 1963 graduate of Marshfield High School. He served his country as a Navy Seaman on the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, Jim worked as a marine electrician at the Bethlehem Steel Shipyard at Sparrows Point. Jim was a Maryland DNR senior hunting safety instructor and was also a firearms instructor for the NRA. He enjoyed guns, hunting, photography, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Donlin, who died in 2013; his parents, John and Patricia Donlin and a brother, Bobby Donlin. He is survived by his children, Patrick Donlin (wife Alescia) of Edgewater and James Francis Donlin, Jr. of Annapolis; siblings Brian Donlin of Baltimore, Brenda Nuse of Lusby, MD, Christine Mansfield of Nottingham, MD and Patricia Callender of Kingston, WA; and grandchildren Alexis and Mia Donlin.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Monday, July 9 from 12-1 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1, at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Avenue, Annapolis. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville.
