Margaret “Maggie” Katherine Olienyk, age 79, passed on March 11, 2019. She was born on April 6, 1939 to the late Max and Agnes Rosenauer in Annapolis, Maryland.
Maggie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. She was kind-hearted and always shared a warm and welcoming spirit to everyone in her path. She was quick to grin, spread good cheer, and not opposed to sharing a joke, always a “clean” joke. She always had time to engage the human condition of others. No one could ask for a better friend. She enjoyed many artistic endeavors, collecting “treasures”, gardening, and tending to her flowers.
After High School she worked in administrative roles for the Department of the Navy at the David Taylor Research Center. She married her high school sweetheart, Roddy Pace, and remained married until his untimely death due to a work-related accident.
A few years later Maggie met her future husband at a local bull roast, which would lead her to a second career as a dutiful Navy Wife for some twenty-eight years, which carried her to many destinations around the globe. She served as an Ombudsman for Navy wives and was active in her military communities. In retirement Maggie engaged in supporting military troops through various endeavors. She also enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends.
