John C. Homa, 71, of Glen Burnie and previously of Severna Park from 1978 to 2001, died of cancer Feb. 25 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie after a brief illness.

Born Aug. 22, 1934, in Ashley, Pa., Mr. Homa served in the Army. He retired as a systems analyst from the National Security Agency with more than 36 years of service. Subsequently he worked in security at Baltimore Washington Medical Center before retiring again.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park and was a golf enthusiast.

On May 25, 1957, he married Joan Marie Homa, who died Nov. 28, 2000.

Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Billen of Evergreen, Colo., and Leslie Kutsner of York, Pa.; one brother, Ed Homa of New Haven, Conn.; one sister, Kay Cowell of Eden Prairie, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Michael and Anna Chopack Homa.
