Ivan Julius Andrasik, "ICCI", 72, a resident of Odenton for 36 years and previously of Silver Spring, died November 28 at his home.

He was born May 7, 1938, in Roznava, Slovakia, and was employed as a research chemist and supervisor of the Research Analytical Lab at the DL Institute in Laurel. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odenton, the Knights of Columbus Archbishop Council 5263 in Odenton, a longtime Republican and a member of the American Chemical Society.

He enjoyed reading, traveling, listening to classical jazz and 1970s music, mountain climbing in the Swiss Alps and High Tatra, and telling jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Maria J. Andrasik of Odenton, whom he married in 1967; two daughters, Patricia Andrasik of Washington, D.C. and Margaret Smigiel of Flourtown, Pa.; son-in-law James Smigiel; and three grandchildren, Roman, Elise, and Lucia Smigiel.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, December 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odenton. Interment Epiphany Cemetery in Odenton. The family asks that Mass be requested for the soul of Ivan Andrasik at St. Joseph Catholic Church or one's local Catholic church.
