George Sumner “Geo” Segal, age 92, a resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Morgantown, New York City, Jupiter Island, FL and Palm Beach, FL, died November 26, 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Born in Boston on April 12, 1926, George graduated from Syracuse University. George was an internationally renowned and recognized apparel and shirt manufacturer and consultant. From the late 1960’s-80’s, he was CEO of Morgan Shirt in Morgantown. He later became President of George Segal Associates in New York City.

His companies manufactured clothing and shirts for many major companies, including Ralph Lauren (the blue and purple label), Calvin Klein, Kate Spade, Liz Claiborne and Lady Van Husen. Alongside his beloved wife, Marianela Sargent-Segal, he traveled worldwide and consulted with manufacturers in Russia, Mongolia, Japan, China, Peru and Vietnam, where he also served as Vietnam’s sales rep for Vintax in their New York office. He also did consulting work with various fashion industry schools throughout the United States.

In his spare time, George loved skiing, running, tennis, swimming, taking trips with his family and his beloved dogs Ali, Stretch, Max and Figaro.

Segal of Charleston, WV, Jensen Sargent of Annapolis, Blaine Segal of Davidson, NC, Danielle Segal of Asheville, NC and Jacqueline Sargent of Annapolis; daughters-in-law Robin Jean Davis, Karla Sargent and Amanda Segal; and grandchildren Gwen Sargent, Oliver Davis Segal and Aydan Segal.
