Alice Mae Morgan, 93, of Millersville passed away May 8, 2019. She was born to the late John (of Kansas) & Lydia (Weibert, who was a Russian immigrant) Winters on June 25, 1925 on a farm in Eaton, Colorado. She was the 8th child of 9 children. Alice was bilingual - German was the language of the family.
In 1943 Alice met and married an Army Soldier from Massachusetts - Walter J. Morgan. He brought 2 children into the marriage - Walter, Jr and Elizabeth (Betty). Although they did not travel with them - they resided in Massachusetts.
Alice and Walter embarked on their military travel adventures with their daughter, Beverly, in 1949 to Germany. They would return 2 more times. The 3rd tour brought a son into their family - Robert (Bob). In between these Army tours of Germany, their stateside duty stations landed them in several different states. Alice and Walter and their 2 children finally landed in Maryland - Anne Arundel County - where Walter finally retired from the Service in 1962.
Alice then set out to set up “roots” for her family. She held different positions in her work career - but she loved to work with numbers, so off to AACC to take up bookkeeping. She held a position at a distribution company until she retired. Not content being retired; she joined the team at Historic Savage Mill in Savage, MD. working in retail.
Alice was an avid bowler. She played for years until her late 80’s. She also started playing tennis in her 50’s and winning a tournament. Alice loved needlepoint, pottery and reading were a few of her hobbies. She also enjoyed teaching adult bible studies at her Church.
