Dana Lee “Hap” Green, Jr, age 80, a resident of Shady Side, MD and previously of Bristol, MD, died February 23, 2018 of natural causes after a two month illness. Born in Washington, DC on May 27, 1937, he graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1956 and attended classes at Prince George’s Community College. He worked for Pepco, GSA, and from 1981-2003, he owned Substation Test Company. He served in the National Guard from 1953-1959, starting as a Private First Class before advancing to the rank of Staff Sergeant.

From 1960-2018, Hap was a member of the Tri State Sports Club. Other memberships included the NETA, NECA, Bristol Civic Association, being a Boy Scout Leader and St. James Parish, of which he was a longtime member. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, boating, music, spending time with family, travel, reading, crossword puzzles and good wines.

Hap is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marian E. Green; his children, Jeffrey (Annette) Green of Chestertown, Susan (Robert) Morrow of Huntingtown, Phyllis (Matthew) Walker of Huntingtown, Katie (Robert) Brown of Clover, SC and Laura (Scott) Wiles of Lothian; his siblings, Robert Henry Green of Calvert County, Margaret Zarger of Winchester, VA and Virginia Heal of Herndon, VA; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial donations in Hap’s memory may be made to St. James Parish, 5757 Solomons Island Road, Lothian, MD 20711.
