Obituary

Robert (Bob) L. Pryor, age 70, a resident of Severn, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2017. He was born on December 30, 1946 in Waynesboro, PA, but spent his childhood in Sabillasville, MD. Following high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1963-1967. Soon after his honorable discharge from service, he began duty as an analyst at NSA, where he served his nation admirably for 32 years, earning the Secretary of Defense Meritorious Civilian Service Award in 1981.

Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Suzanne (Curran) Pryor; and his son, Robert A. Pryor and daughter-in-law Felicia T. (Bacon) Pryor. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo R. Pryor, his mother, Fonnie (Brady) Pryor, his sister, Mary Joyce (Pryor) Skinner, and his nephew Thomas Skalko. Surviving in addition to his wife and son are his nieces and nephews: Derek & Olivia Skinner, Erin & Thomas Maurer, Lindsey &Brian Lantz, Anne (goddaughter) & Joel Rosenfeld, Jennifer &John Crimmins, Margaret Skalko, Shawn Curran, Alicia Curran, and his brother/sister-in-laws George & Julie Curran and Carolyn& Paul Skalko. Bob was known for his generosity, his dry wit, and his love for his family.

Friends may visit Hardesty Funeral home, 851 Annapolis, Rd, Gambrills, MD 21054 for a Memorial Gathering on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A short service celebrating his life will begin at 3:30 PM, officiated by family friend Rev. Michael Routh. His Interment with military honors at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville will be private.

Bob ultimately suffered from congestive heart failure at the time of his passing. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. www.donatenow.heart.org
