Obituary

Theresa Elizabeth Dorr Jamar, passed away on May 5th in Easton at age 73. Born on January 5, 1943, she was raised and lived in Crownsville until 2011 when she moved closer to her children. Theresa was a 1961 graduate of Arundel High School and worked for the U.S. Postal Service from 1972 until her retirement in 2004. During her time with the Postal Service she worked as a mail carrier and postal clerk in Crownsville and other locations throughout Anne Arundel County. After her retirement, she enjoyed working with children as a teacher's aide or extended day care and cafeteria service. She made a positive influence on the students at Indian Creek School and School of the Incarnation.
Theresa was an exceptional mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many in the community. Her beautiful and unforgettable smile was always sure to brighten everyone's day. She was also a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church in Millersville, where she served on various committees. Theresa loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed bike riding, walking and dancing, reading, and maintaining an impeccable landscape.
She was preceded in death in 2011 by her former husband George F. Jamar, Sr. Surviving are her daughter Donna J. Stevens (Clay) of Cordova; sons George F. Jamar, Jr. of Dover, DE, Wm. Paul Jamar of Stevensville, Thomas E. Jamar of Queenstown; brothers F. Paul Dorr Jr. (Peggy) of Crownsville and V. Joseph Dorr (Marge) of Crownsville; sisters Audrey M. Owen of Annapolis and Marjorie A. Marquess of Harrington, DE; grandchildren Taylor E. Stevens, Lauren N. Stevens, Wm. Ryan Jamar, Ashley Cahn and Donald Clelland, Jr.; great-grandchildren Kaydence Cahn, Colby Cahn and Layla Clelland; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Monday May 8 from 5-8pm at Hardesty Funeral Home, P.A., 851 Annapolis Rd., Gambrills, MD 21054. A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday May 9 at 11:00am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, MD 21108. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Donations are welcome to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 8501 LaSalle Rd. #106, Towson, MD 21286 or to a charity of your choice.
