Obituary

Jack Printz, age 90, a 19 year resident of Annapolis and previously of Dumont, NJ, died peacefully on March 30, 2017 at Baywoods of Annapolis. Born on the Lower East Side of New York City on October 19, 1926, he proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II before going to college, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the City College of New York. After college, Jack worked as a curtain and drapery buyer for Stern's Brothers in New York and New Jersey for 38 years. He loved playing tennis and bridge, traveling, reading, and watching all sports, especially tennis and football.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita. They were married in May 1953 and she died May 15, 2012. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Berkey, of Annapolis; son Gerry Printz (wife Amy) of Ashland, MS; sister Ruth Printz O'Hara of New York, NY; grandchildren Laura Berkey-Ames (husband Mark Ames) of Silver Spring, MD, Sarah Thomas (husband Greg) of Ridgeland, MS and Dorothy Ventura (husband Derek) of Olive Branch, MS; and former son-in-law David Berkey of Crownsville. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3 at 12 noon at Kneseth Israel Cemetery, 101 Defense Highway, Annapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jack's name may be made to the United States Holocaust Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, Washington, DC 20024-2126.
