On the morning of March 17, 2017 Rosemary (Rose) Martino passed away peacefully at the age of 82 at Waugh Chapel Center in Gambrills, Maryland. Rose was born in Cleveland Ohio, the eldest child of Charles A. Walouke and Isobel (Bauer) Walouke on September 29, 1934. She grew up in Cleveland and after graduating high school she attended Miami University in Oxford Ohio where she studied Education. At Miami University she also met her beloved husband of 60 wonderful years Frank Martino. They were married on July 14, 1956 in Cleveland Ohio, and were blessed with four wonderful children during their marriage. Rose taught Elementary school as opportunities presented when Frank's Marine Corps career relocated the family. In 1975 the family settled in Millersville Maryland where Rose began a 20 year teaching career in various schools in Anne Arundel County schools. She continued substitute teaching at local Catholic schools after her retirement. Along with her family and teaching, Rose's main passion was breeding and showing Norwegian Elkhounds and later Swedish Valhunds. She was active as a show dog breeder and exhibitor for over 40 years, and eventually a show judge. She is survived by her loving husband Frank Martino, her four children and their families: Jim and Caren Martino (Amy, Garrett, and Gino); Patty and Don Pearson (Katie, Shiloh, and Joseph); Tom and Sue Martino (Andrew and Elizabeth); Carol and Tim Jones (Sarah and Laura) and multiple nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass and burial, followed by a Celebration of Rose's life will be held at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave South in Millersville, Maryland on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:00 am.
