Obituary

Joseph Patrick "Joe" O'Connor, 51, a life-long resident of Annapolis, died Jan. 12 in his home.

Mr. O'Connor was born May 30, 1956, in Washington, D.C., to the late Leona and John Thomas O'Connor Sr., and graduated from Southern High School in 1974. He attended Anne Arundel Community College.

A sales representative, he worked for Campbell Distributing from 1976 to 1986, and for Buck Distributing from 1987 to the present.

A dedicated fund-raiser for the Maryland Special Olympics for the past seven years, he also coached bowling for the Special Olympics for four years and was a Polar Bear Plunge participant.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Annapolis and the National Bowlers Association.

Mr. O'Connor enjoyed bowling and softball, and working with handicapped children. He was a life-long Redskins fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, John and Pat O'Connor.
