Obituary

Doris Delores Cosden 85 of Lothian passed into the loving arms of her Savior on October 27 at the Annapolitan Assisted Living in Annapolis after a lengthy battle with PSP. She was born November 7th, 1931 in Glen Burnie to Howard and Emma Durm and grew up at her family’s marina on Whitehall Creek Annapolis. She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1948 and married Thomas Cosden in 1949. She was a longstanding member of Mt Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian where she served in the Adult Fellowship and for years chaired (and cooked for) dozens of church suppers. She was a homemaker who loved to travel in the US and abroad. She loved camping, shopping, and crafts such as needlepoint. She was renowned for her holiday decorating (13 Christmas trees), hosting family Thanksgiving dinners of up to 40 people. She was preceded in death by her brother Harry Durm, and sister Mildred Flemming. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Tom, her sons Don (Susie) and Darrell (Kristy) and her grandchildren Brenton (Ashley) and Kayleigh and brother Bunk Durm. Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Road, Galesville on Tuesday Oct 31st. A service celebrating her life will be held at Mt Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian on November 1st at 11am, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
